Cut down the panicle hydrangea "Vanilla Fraise" in spring
The bushy panicle hydrangea "Vanilla Fraise" should be regularly lighted and cut back so that it does not form dense bushes - inside which neither light nor air can circulate properly. As a rule, it is sufficient to cut out the oldest shoots directly on the ground and shorten the side shoots considerably. The best time for a cut is the early spring.

Hydrangeas such as the panicle hydrangea "Vanilla Fraise" are usually sold in a container or bucket. If these specimens are to be planted out in the garden, then a plant pruning is usually not necessary. After all, the roots are still completely intact after replenishing and transplanting. Only root-bare plants need a strong pruning, because the few fiber roots otherwise can not supply the shoots. As a rule, they are cut in half.
