The holly flowers white, not yellow
Is there a holly with yellow flowers?
The pale white flowers of the easy-care European Holly are quite inconspicuous and hardly the reason that garden owners decide to bring this plant into their garden. This is certainly more due to the glossy dark green foliage or the bright red berries.
These berries are often used as Christmas decorations in other countries and are an excellent winter food for many native birds. For other animals and also for humans, these berries are poisonous.
So if you have a "holly" with yellow flowers, then there is probably a mix up here. The Mahonie has a similar appearance as the holly and grows also in similar locations. Therefore, the plants are occasionally confused. But the mahonia has bright yellow flowers.
