Oleander self-propagate is not that complicated. The project works particularly well with freshly cut cuttings, which are either first rooted in the water or are immediately put into potting soil. When is the right time to cut the cuttings?
In principle, freshly cut shoots can be rooted all year round, but the success rate during the summer months is particularly high - especially in July and in August rooted the already in the midst of growth branches very easily. Oleanders can be rooted in two different ways. You can first put the young shoots in the water and allow them to root before putting them in potting soil. However, you can also save this step and plant the cuttings right away - but then it makes sense to put them in pasture water for 24 hours or to immerse them in rooting powder. Experience has shown that the water method offers a much higher success rate.
The oleander cuttings will have rooted after about four weeks. Now you can carefully place them in a planter with potting soil - being careful not to damage the brittle roots! - and keep the cutting nice and moist. It is best to cultivate it under glass, for example by putting a cut-off plastic bottle over it. These can either be perforated or ventilated regularly, so that no molds form.

For successful rooting of cuttings, you do not need expensive rooting powder, but you can simply place the cuttings in self-made pasture water or water them. The included auxins promote root growth. And so prepare the miracle cure:

If your oleander cuttings do not want to root, this may also be due to the wrong water container: Always use opaque vessels for rooting or wrap them with aluminum foil. Roots eventually drift in the dark and not in bright sunshine.
